Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment
Your Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment Period is the six-month period that begins on the first day of the month in which you are both age 65 and enrolled in Traditional Medicare Part B.
This is considered the best time to start a Medicare supplement insurance policy because, during this time, you cannot be asked any medical questions in order to determine your eligibility or rates.
If you are in your Medicare Supplement Open Enrollment Period, don’t delay.
In many instances you may be able to apply for Medicare Supplement coverage up to 6 months in advance of your 65th birthday. By applying early, this allows individuals to have their Medicare Supplement Insurance policy and Insurance Cards in their hands prior to the start of their Medicare Parts A and B.
